I have happy memory of Bill from February 2023. He, Carrie, Gill and I enjoyed a great evening in Portland at the Moda Center, the Eagles were playing that night, they were on great form, so many wonderful songs (my favorite is anything with Joe Walsh) everything they played was perfect. A very happy time for us all.
The next memory a somewhat poignant one.
It was the day it was time for Bill to leave his beloved home, the one he built himself. Sadly, he need help to care for himself, he having that ability stolen by dementia. The things we all do without thinking about them.
Thankfully Bill was surprisingly sanguine about him leaving home. The endearing thing was, he invited me to join him for a walk down to the creek, a place the whole family had spent a great deal of time at over the years, although Carrie did have to say Dad, please put some pants on, really don't think he thought if mattered. He was quite frail even at that time, but we managed the visit just fine. It is a place a person would never tire of the ducks in their perfect habitat, the peace, I commented how tranquil it was the sun streaming through the trees. It could be in the middle of a forest, Bill looked at me and said that's a perfect word for it. A precious moment. Tony Brennan.
Bill was a great friend to the Flamingo Girls and the best faux husband. I'll never forget the fun we had. :-) Ricci
