What I remember most about Joyce, "Nannie" is her quick wit and funny sense of humor. She always knew how to make people laugh. She spent every Christmas Eve with my family ending in a sleepover. It was an unbelievable experience waking up to so many packages. I will never forget her expressions when she would open the gifts she had wrapped for herself each year! Another great memory is every year she would take each grandchild school shopping and make an entire day out of it. Everyone in the mall knew her as we would go from store-to-store. The days when I would go to the mall alone people would always ask, where is your nannie? I will miss her dearly and one of the ways I dealt with her illness was taking part in the Relay For Life event held at Oregon State University. My team won the most fundraised award with an ending amount $6,845.30. One day she told me, she had never received a nicer gift in her life. I will never forget that moment. She will forever be in my heart but always holding my hand because she was my J.E.M
