I have known Wes for almost all of my life. He was always one of my favorite people to talk with, learning something new every time I sat down with him. Arguing about sports was one of our most passionate topics - both of us would never agree with the other. He was one of the most genuine, nicest and most caring individuals I have ever met. Throughout the years he was always asking how school was, what I thought about a certain thing, how my job was, where I was living. He really had a god-given ability to totally be into whatever conversation he was in, a rare trait these days. He was always so gracious and kind to my then-girlfriend (now wife of three years) and made her feel like a part of the family. We would have loved to have him meet our 2 month old, as we know how much he would have appreciated that. But we do know he is watching down on us and we will be together again.Attached is one photo from our Wedding that really personifies who Wes was: present in the moment, big smile on his face and a big bear hug.Wes, you will be missed greatly.Megan, Milo and Andrew Mertz
