Wanda MacDaniels' Obituary
Wanda MacDaniels, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the Canterbury Assisted Living Home in Longview, Washington. Wanda was born on February 4, 1933 in Fairfield, Idaho to Orley Phipps and Helen Heath Phipps. Wanda graduated in 1951 from Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho. Wanda met Everett Nye MacDaniels, the love of her life, in 1953. They were married June 12, 1954, and enjoyed 66 wonderful years until Everett’s passing March 30, 2021. Wanda was a seamstress extraordinaire, operating her own alteration shop while they lived in Bend, Oregon. After moving to the Portland area, along with doing alterations for Nordstroms, she loved sewing most anything, but notable were beautiful quilted comforter with sham sets for her children and grandchildren. She was a perfectionist in all that she put her hands to, like f lower and vegetable gardening and watercolor painting. She was the epitome of a homemaker, making her own jams, jellies, canned goods, and her incredible personal recipes. Together, Wanda and Everett enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Elks; became devoted RV travelers; and they enjoyed their Camp Seekers group building very close friends with many trips focused around bowling tournaments. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchldren. Her legacy lives on in those left to cherish her memory: her brother Melvin Mohr (Sherie), and her children; Karen Helen Hooper (Gary), Clifford Nye MacDaniels (Rose), Kenneth Owen MacDaniels, and Linda Faye MacDaniels; grandchildren, Erin Keeton, Justin Anderson, Nick Anderson, Brandon Hooper, Scott Hooper, Elizabeth Vacknitz, Adam MacDaniels, Matthew MacDaniels, Jeromey Bowers, Lenea Wilson, Kenny MacDaniels, Kristi MacDaniels, & Tommy Vinci; 22 great grandchildren & one great great-grandchild; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings: Grace Phipps Stauffer, Grant Phipps, and Faye Phipps Walton. A private family inurnment will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery on June 12, 2025, for both Everett and Wanda, their anniversary day..together again! “LOVE YOU MORE” MOM!
