Tyler Hosein Motlagh's Obituary
Tyler Hosein Motlagh was born in Longview, Washington on October 9th, 1980 to loving parents Alireza and Adena Motlagh. He is survived by his parents, his younger sister, Mitra Motlagh, two children, Julia (age 9) and Wesley (age 6), his ex-wife and friend, Sarah Motlagh, and many relatives and friends.
He spent the majority of his childhood and early adult life in Tualatin, Oregon. He graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and continued on to earn a Bible Certificate from Ecola Bible School. His career consisted of 14 years in finance, including working as a Relationship Manager for Key Bank and Investment Counselor at Fisher Investments. While at Key Bank, Tyler offered his services to the Rotary Club of Oregon. He was the youngest president elected and earned recognition for Outstanding Leadership as Club President (2013-2014). In his passion for helping the community, Tyler truly shined in this role where he could draw together a wide variety of people with his winning humor and genuine kindness.
Tyler had an insatiable desire for knowledge and could impressively discuss physics, history, politics, and even extraterrestrials. He was not one to shy away from risk, whether it was climbing to the top of a fir tree when he was a boy or playing practical jokes. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of being with the people he loved and often expressed his deep gratitude for them. Tyler's personal faith in God was beautifully complex. His yearning to be with God in his heavenly home was fulfilled on May 5th, 2016. Words cannot express how much he is missed and how each of us look forward to the day when we will meet again.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Tyler Motlagh at Tigard Christian Church on Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at 3:00 PM. Reception will follow the service at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a special fund created in Tyler's memory to meet the needs of the people who relied on Tyler the most. Donations can be made either in person or online through GoFundMe at www.gofundme.com/23ctakk.
