What a great man! His life was cut short however he sure enjoyed it. He had many chapters in his life's journey that I know brought him joy, happiness, and love, but I think his final chapter is the one he earned, and that was being a Grandpa. I saw the many pictures of him with the granddaughters and there was never a one where he wasn't smiling or having a loving look for those beautiful little girls. If you want to see the best definition of a Grandpa--just take a look at TOM. I will miss him and always have good memories thinking about him and your family.

Mary,
Where do I begin? We are longtime friends with you and Tom with so many memories of laughter and fun. Our friendship started in West Des Moines with all 4 of us as young couples who shared our faith and so many silly times. We did our first big bike ride with you and Tom in Wisonsin. We went to your favorite bed and breakfast in Wisconsin. Our friendship continued through the years. We cherish more recent memories when Les and I traveled to Oregon to have fun with you and Tom. Then you and Tom visited us in Kansas City. Through so many memories we remember Tom's wonderful kindness, his outstanding sense of humor, his amazing love for you and his family, his love for the Lord, and so much more.

Our hearts are so sad for you and for your family. We love you, and we cherish our friendship. As we all journey closer to heaven, hopefully we can smile and picture Tom's wonderful presence. What a wonderful person!

Dear Mark, Julie, Mary and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Tom was a great guy. He and your family play a prominent role in my memories from living in WL. The Renne house was the hub of WL social life in high school and Tom was always a key part of that. He will be missed by many!

Dear Mary,
It has been quite a while but the memories are still there. We are so sorry to hear about Tom. Your husband was a wonderful man. It was a pleasure to know him! I know that you will go forward as the strong woman that you are, even though you have a hole in your heart. Our whole family has some great memories with your family…starting with play group for the kids. We send our love to you guys during this difficult time.

Renne family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen you all, but Mary, Julie, Mark, and Tom figured into my childhood consistently. I have such fond memories of Fritz the Schnauzer and staying over at your house when my parents went to Alaska. Tom was always so fun, lively, HAPPY and comforting to be around. I agree with every word of the beautiful obituary you guys wrote: he was such an incredible family man. I loved being with you guys and watching how Tom (and Mary!) inspired their kids to follow their dreams and passions. I remember playing Uno with you, and randomly Tom taking my brother Jesse, and I along with Mark and Julie out for slurpees (I got banana) one hot West Linn day, and we were all laughing a lot and I had slurpee come out my nose. Tom is definitely a fixture in some of my core memories, and I’m so sad and sorry you must suffer such a sudden and profound loss. Love to you all from Colorado, Jen (Bollinger) Lokey
