Thomas Gilbert Moeller
Born: November 29, 1944, in Hillsboro, Oregon
Died: July 7, 2024, in Gladstone, Oregon
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tigard, Oregon.
Thomas Moeller was the youngest of five sons born to Grace (Voelker) Moeller and Richard Moeller. Tom graduated from Concordia High School in Portland in 1962 and went on to study at Concordia Junior College, where he met his wife, Marlene (Worthy) Moeller, as a college freshman. He later earned a degree in Business from Portland State University. He and Marlene married in August of 1967, and raised two children, Janet and Matthew. After a wonderful 44 years of marriage, Marlene passed away in June 2011.
Tom's careers were as varied as they were successful. They began with him working on the family farm with his father, joining the Army Reserves, working in several areas of the insurance industry, holding positions with the State of Oregon, and owning and operating his own business. Through all this, Tom's real passion was bringing others closer to Christ. He was always very involved in the Lutheran Church, from being an elder to teaching Bible class, or serving wherever he was called.
Tom married Elizabeth Golston in April of 2018. In total, they spent eight loving years together, laughing and enjoying each day.
Tom loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was known for his warm smile and generous spirit. He maintained close friendships throughout his life with brothers, cousins, in-laws and fellow members of his church family.
Tom is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his brother Cliff Moeller, his children Janet Moeller (Nick Spragg) and Matthew Moeller (Jacquiline), and his grandchildren Jasmine and Kristin. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Tom was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Rick, Ron, and Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Northwest District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Tom's memory.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
