Thomas B. Engel's Obituary
Thomas B. Engel passed away on February 8, 2013, in Portland, Oregon. He was born on August 6, 1941, in Janesville, Wisconsin, to parents Bertrand and Elizabeth Engel. He worked for National Electric Cable company until 1982, when he opened his own hobby shop, Engel Pacific Hobby, which he ran for 20 years. He then worked for SST, Specialized Student Transportation, Inc. He enjoyed R/C airplanes, archery, gun club, as well as taking special needs children to school. He loved to read and listen to jazz music, as well as being with nature. He is survived by his ex-wife Stacy, their two children Nicol and Christine, and 2 grandchildren, ex-wife Sue, best friend of 35 years Donna Beecham, and his lover and friend of 11 years, Irene Corey.He is also survived by his sister, Susan Elizabeth Parker, who resides in Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Elizabeth. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and WAAM (Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum) in Hood River. Viewing will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, February 18, at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud. There will be a funeral service at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud at 10:00AM on Monday, February 25, followed by a committal service at Mt. View Cemetery. He will be greatly missed.
