Steven Craig De Witt's Obituary
All friends and family are welcome to join us in celebrating Steve De Witts life on Wednesday, November 16th. There will be a viewing and celebration of life, details below.
In the early afternoon on November 9th, 2022, Steve De Witt passed peacefully at the age of 64. Steve was born to Jim and Evelyn in Albany, Oregon on March 31st 1958. Steve will be deeply missed by his son, Austin, brothers Bill DeWitt and Leon DeWitt (deceased), sisters Linda Hadley, Lisa Nemec, and Kelly Dewitt, and a large family of nieces and nephews.
Steve grew up in a family of eight and was the youngest of three boys. He got his love of hunting and fishing from his father, Jim DeWitt and big heart from his mother Evelyn DeWitt Grossaint who he loved deeply. His mother always held a special place in his heart and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her.
Steve cherished his family and one of his greatest joys was being a father. He made sure to pass down his love for the outdoors to both his son Austin and nephew Cameron as well as helped start the tradition of annual family camping trips which has brought the whole family closer together over the years. He took so much pride in all his family’s accomplishments and was always there for support when needed.
Steve lived life to the fullest, loved to bring people together and was a true friend. He was blessed with friendships dating back to high school and his group of friends, old and new, were such a blessing in his life. We know he considered them more so family than just friends. Those relationships were the foundation of a richly lived life full of joy and great stories.
As we celebrate Steve as a brother, father, uncle, and friend, we hope you are lifted up with memories and great stories, laughter and the knowledge that if you were a part of his life, he truly loved you and appreciated your friendship.
