Stephen Robert Wachner's Obituary
Stephen Robert Wachner "aka" Wooten
November 16,1949-March 14,2020
Steve was 70 years old. Born in Hillsboro to Patricia and Fred Wachner. He attended West Linn High School where he met and later married Debra C (Rickard) Wachner. They were married just short of 48 years.
He was a Vietnam Navy veteran but his adventures on the water began when he caught his first Chinook salmon at age 5. He was well known on the Willamette River particularly during "Springer" season, where he was also know as Wooten, often disappearing to sneak in a little fishing. It was in his blood till cancer took over.
He worked at Crown Zellerbach before going to the Safeway warehouse in Clackamas, retiring after 37 years.
He leaves behind his wife Debra; daughter Angela D. Wachner; son Stephen Robert Jr.; granddaughters Alexis West and Justine Wachner; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A service to be determined at a later date, due to Covid-19, will be held at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society, Non-Hodgekins-Lymphoma.
