Rose Christine Miken's Obituary
Rose Christine Miken (January 23, 1931, May 27, 2014) of West Linn, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in her home. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Paul Miken, and their 4 children; John (Denise) Miken of West Linn, Jim (Gladys) Miken of Lake Oswego, Joe (Gloria) Miken of Vancouver, and Jean (John) McCabe of West Linn. Rose also had 3 grandchildren: Jeff Miken, Conor & Caitlin McCabe and two great-grandchildren; Hadley & Emmet Miken whom she loved dearly. Growing up in Sellwood, Rose enjoyed roller-skating contests at the Oaks Park roller ring. She worked for Standard Oil until the office moved to California. After having her 4 children she retuned to work for the West Linn High School as their bookkeeper for 23 years until retirement. Rose along side Paul loved traveling, cruse ships, and playing pinochle and the bowling league at the Oregon City Elks. Also she enjoyed going to movies, and being with her family. She was inspirational in her yoga exercise class. Besides her love of family probably eating chocolate was one of her favorite activities.A holy rosary and memorial service will be held on Monday June 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City.
