Robert Lee Stein's Obituary
Robert (Bob) died peacefully in his home on January 6, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was a devoted family man, good friend to many and a successful businessman.
Born in Portland Oregon, Bob was raised in West Linn Oregon where he also raised his family. He attended West Linn High School, class of 1950 and Lewis & Clark College, Class of 1954. Bob pursued his masters in business at NYU and returned home to join his father Frank Stein in running Tidewater Oil Company, a home heating oil delivery business, which later evolved into Stein Oil Company.
Bob grew his petroleum marketing business into a successful enterprise of gas stations, commercial card locks, convenience stores and car washes. He could be seen on the job until the last days of his life. He was dedicated to his community and was a member of Oregon City Rotary, and a loyal supporter of Clackamas Community College. He will be remembered by all for his love and devotion to family, friends and business associates.
A Celebration of Life event is planned for March 1, 2020 at the Oregon Golf Club from 1-4 PM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Oregon City Rotary Club or Clackamas Community College.
