Peter Heidrich's Obituary
Peter Heidrich, 74, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed from this life from complications of Parkinson's disease on February 26, 2013 in Oregon City, Oregon. He was born in Klamath Falls on November 23, 1938 to Marion Heidrich and Marjorie (Bowman) Heidrich. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Oakridge, Oregon, where he spent his childhood. After graduating from Oregon State, his first teaching job was in Seligman, Arizona, where he met and married Kay Bailey. They returned to Klamath Falls in 1969, and had two children. He was a teacher with the Klamath City School District from 1969 until his retirement in 1998, teaching Math first at Klamath Union, and then at Mazama High School. Some might also remember him as a bartender at Abby's Pizza, where he worked as a second job for over 20 years. He enjoyed seeing people there who at one time or another had been his students. His favorite thing to do was to make people laugh, and always had a joke or pun, ready at a moments' notice. He also enjoyed wearing funky neckties to work, and had the largest necktie collection anyone had ever seen. His favorites were ties that were given to him by his students. He was kind and giving, always willing to help people in need.Never one to complain, he courageously fought his disease for over 16 years. He leaves behind a daughter, Heidi Studt, Klamath Falls, son and daughter in law Curtis and Debra Heidrich, Portland, grand- daughter and husband, Tanya and Ben Luff, and great-grand daughter Alexis Luff, Klamath Falls. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Marjorie Heidrich, and brother Keith Heidrich.A private memorial will be held at a later date.
