Paul W Blanchard's Obituary
Paul W. Blanchard passed away peacefully on April 12, 2014 at the age of 95. He had been ailing for some time with kidney failure. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. His wife Clara and son Steve predeceased him. Paul is survived by sons Bill and Rex and daughter Paula, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was very active in the Milwaukie Elks as past editor of their Elkhorn newsletter, active in the Singles Group and Sick and Visiting committee among other activities. He was Elk of the Year at his lodge in 1994. He loved racquetball, golf and mall walking. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and was a World War II veteran. He was described as a kind and gentle person. He enjoyed sitting in the lobby after meals greeting and visiting with residents at Town Center Village where he spent the final years of his life. His service will be at Christ the King Catholic Church, Milwaukie, Or, Thursday, May 8, 2014, 11:00 am with interment at Willamette National Cemetery 2:00 pm.
