Pat's early career was spent working with my father, so I met Pat at a very early age. He got to return the favor many years later when I interned under Pat and Chris in Oregon City while I was at MHCC. I learned many professional lessons from Pat, including "quit pacing while you're standing by at a funeral! It makes those around you edgy. Just stand professionally." I've never forgotten that one, and many others. Pat was clever, smart, compassionate, and professional. I'll always appreciate how he treated me as a little kid, and how he mentored me when I grew into our profession. We're all better for having known Pat Waud.
