Patrick Joseph Biancardi's Obituary
Obituary for Patrick Biancardi
Patrick Joseph Biancardi was born on March 28, 1939, in Utica, NY, where much of his family lived
close by. His parents, Frances Sardina and Mariano Biancardi were delighted with this first child. A
few years later, his little brother Paul arrived, and sister Lori later completed the family.
Patrick attended Thomas R. Proctor High School and married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn
Pannone when he was 22 years old. This marriage produced 2 fine sons, Robert and Greg, but after
15 years, Pat and Marilyn went their separate ways. Pat eventually married Shirley Cogdill in
December of 1984, and they lived happily together for many years until her death in March of 2024.
Patrick joined the Air Force in January of 1958, playing the trumpet for the official Air Force Band
(when there was only one Air Force band). He traveled the world for 4 years representing our country
with inspirational music. He even marched in John F. Kennedy’s inaugural parade!
Entrepreneur is the best way to describe what Patrick did for a living. From selling Kirby vacuums
door to door, to becoming the #1 salesman at NCR; from running a print shop in his basement to
buying and selling real estate, he was always open to options for earning money. Possibly the most
rewarding business that he enjoyed running was Biancardi Guitars where Pat designed, built and sold
handmade guitars. He did this off and on for over 20 years. Arthritis in his hands prevented him from
pursuing this vocation as long as he would have wished, but there are quite a few works of musical
art out there in the world with his name on them.
At the age of 86, Patrick peacefully left this earth on August 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Shirley Biancardi and his stepson, Terry Havro. He is survived by brother, Paul Biancardi
(Nancy), sister, Lori Cole, son, Robert Biancardi (Amy), son, Greg Biancardi, stepchildren Sherry
Gregg, Jerry Havro (Wendy) as well as 8 amazing grandchildren, and 9 delightful great grandchildren
(plus 6 wonderful step grands and 8 awesome step great grands). He will be missed by many.
