Mildred Jean Bennett's Obituary
Mildred Jean Bennett (Koellermeier), "Millie"Born March 14, 1923, passed in peace Monday, March 23, 2015 at the age of 92. Daughter of William and Ruby Kollermeier of Stafford, Oregon and sister to Lester, Roland and Wilda. Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Sheldon Bennett, as well as companions later in her life, Roland Charbonneau and Bill Robinson. Bill and Millie shared a special bond in their last three years of life in a "marriage of the heart." Loving mother to Joanna Carol Zamora of Eugene, Oregon, and David Lloyd Bennett (Mary Ann) of Freedom, Maine. Proud grandmother to Jorge, Cindy, Alex, Steven, Donnie, Ana and Breana as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews and her life long best friend Doris Johnson. Millie graduated from West Linn High School and Multnomah Business College. She worked and retired from James River Corporation, during a time when women rarely worked outside the home. Millie was an exceptional gardener and treasured her beautiful greenhouse fuchsias that she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. During her final years she cherished the memories of family campouts, beach trips to Arch Cape, extended family reunions and a good game of pinochle. A memorial service will be held on June 13, 2015 at 2 PM at the Meridian United Church of Christ, affectionately known as Frog Pond Church in Wilsonville, Oregon which Millie's grandfather helped found in 1880.
