Mike and I were good friends in high school, we went our separate way after high school. But saw Mike in Saigon in 1968 we talked quickly I was leaving for Austrailia. I lost track of Mike then spoke to him at Fred Meyer actually I did not recognize him but while speaking he smiled I looked at his name tag Mike, Mike whats your last name Yates, wow Mike Yates. It was good to see him. We exchanged phone numbers. I've tried to keep in touch but maybe he was saving me grief, know he was disturbed about the VA and health problems. I very sorry for the loss of your Dad/Papa: I'am sad that we didn't make a reconnection. Dave Bealey

Sending our sincere condolences to Mike's family. I worked with Mike for many years at North Salem Fred Meyer. He was quick to smile and say hello. I remember the day he told me he was going to be a grandpa, he was so excited! Each time we talked after that I would ask about the baby and his whole face would light up! He is deeply missed by his Fred Meyer family.
