Marilyn Ruth McComb's Obituary
Marilyn was born in Los Angeles, California to Jim and Ruth McComb. When she was a young girl, she went on a trip to Portland with her mother and quickly disliked Los Angeles. She exclaimed to her mother that Portland was going to be her new home.
She arrived in Portland in the late 50's, married and began a family. She settled in Sandy and later divorced. She then moved to West Linn where she lived until she passed away on April 12th.
Hiking and camping were her passions and she was always pursuing new endeavors. Marilyn worked for the Port of Portland for several years and after retiring she started a very successful Pet Grooming business. Marilyn continued her passion as an avid snowmobiler with her boyfriend Ron. They went snowmobiling in Alaska, Canada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Marilyn once rode 80 miles on a snowmobile after breaking her back. Marilyn, Ron and her girlfriends travelled all over the United States. Marilyn and her friend Cathy once traveled to Australia and New Zealand where they hiked many miles together. Marilyn regretted not skydiving with her friend before her health would not allow it. Marilyn and Ron also drove the Al-Can Highway together.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother and father. Marilyn is survived by: 2 brothers, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 3 grandsons, and one great grandson.
