Marie Grace Fish's Obituary
Marie was born on March 20,1932 in Martin, South Dakota
to Herschel and Leona Alexander. Marie was one of five
children. She married when she was seventeen and moved
to Oregon with her husband and two young children in 1960.
Marie loved to dance and was a member of the Barn Owls
Square Dance Club and later, the B & B’s Square Dance
Club.
Marie loved to sew and was an accomplished seamstress.
She worked for 17 years running the costume department at
the Lakewood Theater Company as their Wardrobe Mistress,
retiring when she was well into her 80’s. Even after her
retirement, she continued to attend each new production the
theater put on. Over the years, she made most of her square
dance dresses and made “Grandma blankets” for all her
grand-children.
Marie is survived by her younger sister, Peggy; son Richard
(Kathy) and daughter Dianna (Wendall); grand-children
Aaron (Laura), Brian, Joshua (Candice), Ketra, Meghan
(Andrew); and seven great- grandchildren, Roland, Daphne,
Logan, Caleb, Brynli, Oliver, and Beckett.
Preceding her in death were her parents and three of her
siblings, Helen, Jean, and Leonard, as well as her first-born
son, Wendell.
