Margaret Nana Marge Leatham's Obituary
Margaret Leatham (Nana Marge) was born December 17, 1929. She grew up in Nokomis, Illinois. Her parents were Hilda and Frank Stevens. Her mother passed away when Margaret was three.
Her first job was in a glove factory where she was a “left-hand glove closer”. She has shared funny memories of her work there.
She is survived by her children Steve, Stephanie, Stacy, and Shelly. Frankie and Marsha are no longer with us.
She moved to the Pacific Northwest and married Mark Leatham. She worked for TSA at Portland International Airport and in security at the Federal building in Portland. Other jobs she was employed at include: bus driver (she raved about her students), waitress (many funny stories to share), and as a security guard.
Marge loved telling funny stories and cooking “from scratch”. Some of her famous dishes include homemade chicken and noodle soup with dashes and pinches that no one can duplicate. She also made delicious fudge and divinity. She loved Round Table Pizza, Downton Abbey, and the movie A Christmas Carol. She loved thrift shopping and flamboyant fashion. She also enjoyed singing and listening to “big band” music.
Marge would recite poetry, read murder mysteries, and the Bible. 😊 She could recite many Psalms by memory.
Marge was quick-witted, friendly, and had volumes of stamina.
Marge’s absence will be deeply felt by family and friends alike, neighbors, and acquaintances. She was just an enjoyable person to be around. She will be forever missed.
