Maravene Walker's Obituary
VIVIAN MARAVENE WALKER (102) of Portland, Oregon, widow of JACK B. WALKER fulfilled her life courageouslyFriday, December 4th 2015.
MARAVENE was born November 16th 1913 in Anacortes Washington, the daughter of George and Mable Harris.She married Jack Walker July of 1935 at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon. Their 3 children, Phyllis, Robert and Todd were raised in the family home next to Mt. Tabor Park. The church was an important part of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher, circle leader, and president of a women's association. She participated in many church activities and was known for her dramatic performances. She began a career with Kaiser Permanente as a lab tech in 1970 and retired from there. She spent many years of her retirement at Courtyard Plaza where she made many friends who remember her good nature and wit.
She is survived by Todd Walker, Phyllis Pyle, Chuck Pyle, Jean Walker and Sue Walker. 6 Grandchildren: Craig Pyle, David Pyle, Melanie Locher, Carleton Walker, Wendy Lopes, Ben Walker. 12 Great grandchildren: Carson Pyle, Chloe Pyle, Trevor Pyle, Robert Walker, Jack Walker, Carleton Walker Jr., Pearl Walker, Jackson Locher, Jenner Locher, Mireya Lopes, Miles Walker and Silas Walker.
A celebration of life for friends and family will be held Saturday December 12th, 1pm at Holman-Hankins-Bowker and Waud.
