Just today learned that Lois had passed away. She was an icon, especially in her family and in the Redlands community. I enjoyed many Thanksgiving Dinners at the Vancil family farm and remember how gentle and intellectually gifted she was. I think it was from Lois that I learned about Arugula, a tasty herb, and have planted it in gardens. Lois liked the old style steam engine locomotives and it pleased me that I could give her Orchard Supply Hardware Calendars which feature beautiful pictures of these coal burning monster trains that roamed the rails during her childhood and early adulthood. Lois had a long "Dash" and I am a better person for having met her and enjoyed her friendship. Fortunately, we all get to meet again when the resurrections arrive. Until then I'll miss her and remember her. Jack Worthington, January 16, 2013, Reedley, California
