In 1961/1962, the Dunn family was living in the Gribble mansion next to gribble creek on the road to Hamrick's corner from Canby, Oregon. Leonard and I went across the road to the barn. He had just purchased a used 12-guage shot gun from a pawn shop. At the barn, we spied roosting Pigeons in the loft. He aimed and fired the rifle. in a split second, the fore-stock blew off and the rifle fell to the ground. The pigeons flew off unscathed. We both stood laughing our butts off.
