Lawrence C. and Eda Fae Personett's Obituary
COUPLE MEETS ETERNITYJust a month shy of seventy four years was what they spent together; an era that not only spans the Great Depression, but World War Two as well. No one would say those were the easiest of times, and yet, through it all, their love stayed true.Lawrence C. Personett was born in Eureka, California on December 16th, 1916. He was the first and only child of Alice and Jay Personett. At the age of two his mother died in the Great Influenza Pandemic and from then on spent much of his youth living with different family relatives. He met his future wife while attending Oregon City High School and after completing one year at Willamette University in Salem they married on the 15th of June, 1941.Eda Fae Schrump was born in Medford, Oregon on the 23rd of September, 1920. As time went on she moved with her family to a small dairy farm outside of Oregon City. There, they grew and canned fruits and vegetables. The dairy provided an abundance of cream, milk, and butter which saw them safely through the depression years. As time went on, during high school, Eda Fae found out that Larry's nicknamed was "the sultan" due to his debonair ways and active dating routine. This, however, was not a daunting matter to Eda Fae who quickly caught his eye. The rest, as they say, was history. It was a fair-weathered day in December as Larry and Eda Fae were driving home with their first Christmas tree when they overheard the radio speaker announcing the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Like most of the men, he signed up, and the couple spent the next few years apart. Before he left he developed a code that would enable his young wife to know where he was at all times. As the years past the war ended, homes were built, and children were born. Larry worked for Zellerback Paper Company as a Materials Manager, while Eda Fae stayed home and developed a seasonal business called Filbert Fancys. Larry Personett died the 30th of April, 2014, with Eda Fae following him on the 12th of May, 2014. They loved, they lived, and in the end they couldn't even be separated by death itself. Indeed, they are together for eternity.Larry and Eda Fae Personett are survived by two children. Gregg L. Personett, and J. Corinne Davidson. Their grandchildren are Jocelyn Stover, Devon Davidson, and Heather Personett, and great grandchildren are Micah Stover, Riley Stover, Jacob Stover, and Reese Stover. Services will be held on Friday May 23, 2014 at 11:30AM at Holman-Hankins-Bowker & Waud in Oregon City.
