Kylie Teresa Cavener's Obituary
Kylie Teresa Cavener was born 2/23/1978 in Sydney, Australia to Ann Skinner and Peter Woolridge. She spent her formative years in Australia with her mother and younger sisters Jasmin and Nicole where she enjoyed the beautiful beaches, netball and the great weather. After moving to Vancouver to live with her Aunt Sue's family as a teen, she attended Evergreen High, then graduated in the class of 1996 and got her associates degree.
In 1998 she married Heath Barkley and the two had their only child together, daughter Josie. After meeting her current husband Nate at work, at US Bank, they ended up getting married in Kauai on 5/1/2009. She happily inherited Nate’s eldest daughter Natalie into the family, then had two more children with Nate: Landon and Keira. She ended up spending most of her last 18 years in Oregon City until she passed away in their home Sunday 9/11/2022. She spent her time working for ODS, Starbucks, and the Oregon Employment Department after leaving US Bank.
While she took great pride in her work and always outperformed expectations, most will remember her as a loyal, funny, kind friend and devoted mother. She spent the last 22 years loving, protecting and advocating for each of the four beautiful children, and the last year fawning over her new granddaughter Nova. She was always kind to strangers and loved helping the less fortunate however she could.
In addition to her husband, four children and one grandchild, Kylie is survived by her aunt, uncle, three cousins and one 2nd cousin here in America. In Australia she is survived by her father, her brother BJ and sister Bec, aunt Joy, uncle Luke, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held for Kylie on Sunday October 9th at 11am, at the McMenamins Kennedy School in Portland, Oregon. Space is limited so this service is by invitation only and will also be streamed on Facebook Live for those who cannot attend.
