Kimberly Elizabeth Nordling's Obituary
Kimberly Elizabeth “Kim” Nordling
On January 29, 2026, Kimberly “Kim” Nordling passed away peacefully at home after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.
Kimberly Elizabeth Hoff was born on November 1,1954, to Alex and Doris (Hawkinson) Hoff in Oslo, Minnesota. She called the small farming community home until 1976, when she married Donald Nordling on June 26th. The couple settled in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, before moving in the fall of 1980 to Oregon City, Oregon, where they became longtime residents and raised their three sons.
Kim was a professional bookkeeper and tax consultant. Throughout her career, she worked with local businesses both in office settings and through her own self-employment. In her spare time, she loved exploring her creative side. She had a passion for writing and authored several screenplays and short stories. In 2004, Kim became a Member of the Writer's Guild of America. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, and videography. Collecting and grading vinyl 45s and LPs was more than a hobby—it eventually became a successful part-time online business. Kim enjoyed sports-especially baseball and softball. She cherished spending time with family and friends, and the occasional trip to the beach.
Kim is survived by her husband of 49 years, Don Nordling of Oregon City; her sons, Christopher Nordling (Jennifer) of Milwaukie, Jeremy Nordling (Erica) of Tualatin, and Derek Nordling of Oregon City. She was a proud grandmother to Kenya, Allyson, and Jax, and great-grandmother to Sophia. She is also survived by her sisters, Sheila (Lee Nordling) of Oslo, Minnesota, and Shari (Paul LaBine) of Grand Forks, North Dakota, along with many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Doris Hoff; her sister, Susan Hess, and her brother, Scott Hoff (Rita).
A service will be held at West Linn Lutheran Church on February 11th, 2026, at 11am.
