Kenny Charles Hostetler's Obituary
Kenny Hostetler was born in Oregon City, Ore., in 1971 to Al and Jan. He was a precious son, exceptional brother, loving husband and father, and a loyal friend.
As a young man, Kenny loved sports; football, basketball, and he excelled in baseball. He valued dedication and teamwork. After playing ball in college, he began working as a Regional Maintenance Manager with Shilo Inns and continued with this career for nearly 30 years. He was undoubtedly committed to his work, but also valued his spare time. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Kenny found solace in the outdoors. His favorite memories were those made with his wife and sons while camping or venturing out on their boat. And if he couldn't make it out into the woods, hanging out with family and friends in their backyard was gladly considered time well spent.
While Kenny was a man of countless upstanding qualities, his level of compassion would be considered a rarity. Whether it was a longtime friend or a random person on the street, he was able to exude genuine empathy and care, and never hesitated to offer a helping hand.
Kenny passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 49-years old. While Kenny may no longer walk this earth, those unforgettable qualities live on in those who were fortunate enough to have met him. While he may not have been much for flowers, he was a firm believer in kindness. In remembrance of Kenny, a donation to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sally; his two children, Kyle and Brady; his mother, Jan; his mother and father-in-law, Jan and Don Grossnickle; his siblings, Heidi, Lisa, Vicki, and Butch; his brothers-in-law, Darryl, Jim, and Chris; and he was an uncle and cousin to many.
A funeral will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the Oregon City Evangelical Church with a celebration of life to follow at the Shilo Inns Portland Airport.
