Katherine J. Brickley-Germick passed away Friday June 1st, 2012 in Oregon City, ORSurviving are two sons, Michael of Whiting, Indiana and Patrick of Portland, Oregon; Her brother Charles Brickley of Estero, Florida and sister Gloria of Mishawaka, Indiana.Katie was born in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Howard and Madeline (Voss) Brickley. After graduating from Isaac Elston High School in Michigan City, she went on to receive her Bachelors in Social Service from Indiana University. Relocating to the Syracuse, NY area for decades, she relocated back to the South Bend area, close to family. Her career included homemaker, sales associate, home health care aid and she frequently volunteered for both church and community service. Always open to learning, an avid reader, she remained active in adult education classes and activities throughout her retirement years. Strong in faith, she studied Bible scripture daily.
