Juanita Diane Cyphers' Obituary
In loving memory of Juanita Diane Cyphers
June 6, 1946-September 6, 2023
Juanita Diane Cyphers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on September 6, 2023 at the age of 77.
Born on June 6, 1946 in Portland, Oregon, Juanita grew up in The Dalles, the youngest of three children. She loved to swim, bike and camp. At 15, she met the love of her life, Paul. She and Paul enjoyed road trips, travels to Hawaii and especially creating a home together. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 30, Juanita faced each new challenge with hope and courage.
As a mother, Juanita poured her heart and soul into raising her three children. She made her girls’ dresses and matching clothes for their dolls. She loved to create; she was a quilter, a crafter and a painter. She enjoyed being out in her garden and especially loved the smell of her roses. She was an avid reader throughout her entire life and inspired a love of reading in her children. Despite the physical limitations imposed by her illness, she never complained about the losses she faced.
Juanita created a home full of warmth, laughter and unconditional love. She inspired her family to appreciate the everyday moments: the smell of roses, the sweet hummingbirds outside her window, the first taste of morning coffee, and root beer floats. Juanita taught her family kindness, resilience and compassion.
She especially loved her grandchildren and was always happy to hear about their adventures.
Juanita is survived by Paul, her loving husband of 57 years; her daughters, Robin and Amy (Joel); her son, Mark (Jenn); her grandchildren, Max, Benjamin, Jaden, Isaac, Esmée, Henry and Poppy; and her brother Dan.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Oregon Chapter of the MS Society (https://www.msoregon.org).
