Jill Mary NIcklos' Obituary
Jill Mary Osborn was born September 27, 1942 in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin to Gilbert and Frances Osborn. She graduated from Pius XI
Catholic high school in 1960 and went on to attend Augustana College
in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
In 1966 she gave birth to her daughter Anjill. In 1976 she was married
to Nicholas D. Nicklos. The family lived in southern California for a
couple of years before moving to Portland, Or in 1978. Also in 1978, Jill
and Nick welcomed their son Constantine (Gus) Nicklos.
Jill was a fun-loving friendly woman who always had a smile and could
strike up a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed the beauty of small
things in life like the stillness of a heavy snowfall, colorful autumn
leaves or a warm summer breeze. She made the time to smell the roses
of life.
Jill was a fond lover of animals and some of her most cherished pets
and friends over her life time were a cat named Maybe, and her dogs
Freckles, Spot, Zupy and lastly her beloved Jack. Together they formed
the popular duo of Jack and Jill whose moniker was easy to remember
and as a result they made plenty of friends along their walks.
Seasons and holidays were always made extra special through her love
of decorating. Jill always loved making wreaths and seasonal displays
everything from the whimsical to the traditional. Her home was always
cozy and inviting. In recent years she took great pride in seasonally
decorating the lobby of her senior living center. Everyone loved and
appreciated her efforts to make the environment cheerful and
beautiful.
She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Nick who passed
in 2008. She is survived by her daughter Anjill Schindlbeck (Mark), and
son Gus Nicklos (Erin) as well as 6 beautiful grandchildren Sarah,
Matthew, Samantha, Niko, Gussy, Epi and one great-grandchild Kallie.
As well as her cousin and friend Tommy Voss. She will be greatly
missed by all who loved her and all who knew her.
