Jessica Rae Slezak's Obituary
Jessica Rae Slezak of West Linn Oregon entered into God’s kingdom on June 20th, 2023. She was born December 9, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Brian and Vicki Kiddoo.
Jess had a musical ear and an artistic eye from a very young age. She took piano lessons and later joined band and orchestra in school, playing the viola, flute, piccolo, and drums. She also loved to sing. She sang in talent shows in elementary school as well as church choirs. It wouldn’t be surprising to hear her singing to herself or others for no specific reason at all other than she loved to. Most recently, she was teaching herself how to play the guitar. She was also very artistic, sketching, coloring, and painting whenever she had the chance. Knitting was one of her favorite ways to pass the time and calm her soul. She recently spent a considerable amount of time knitting hats, scarves, and other items to give as gifts to her loved ones. These will be forever cherished.
Jess loved the outdoors. As a child, she spent her summers swimming in her backyard pool in Arizona, only getting out long enough for lunch or an Otter Pop. She also went on countless camping trips first with her parents and sister and later with her 2 sons. She loved spending summers with her grandparents in Little Rock, Arkansas swimming, boating, and tubing in the lake. Recently, it wouldn’t be unusual to receive photos from her various adventures hiking in the forest and visiting the beaches in Oregon.
Known for her contagious smile and goofy sense of humor, Jess will be forever remembered for her ability to make people laugh and her propensity to laugh at herself. When she cared about something or someone, she did it with her full heart. Jess recently became very involved with her church, volunteering her time and making lasting friendships.
Jess is survived by her sons Sebastian and Zander Crocker; sisters Katelin (Justin) White and Sarah (James) Luse; mother Vicki Merz and stepdad Ray Carbajal ; and nieces and nephews Jamie, Jacob, and Kinsley. She is preceded in death by her father Brian and infant daughter Cassie.
