I was friends with Jim in the 80s. He was very handsome, funny and charming. I always enjoyed being around him. My dearest friend from Alaska ( who was gorgeous) was dating him and it became very serious. I thought it was wonderful. I believe they were both very much in love. But then…one of them got cold feet, and she moved back to Alaska. I think it was devastating to both of them.
He didn’t come around much after that and I was very sad and missed him dearly. I wish I could’ve seen him again before he passed away. I know this happened a few years ago but I just came across his memorial here.
I have one memory that was really funny to me. He used to complain that I didn’t have a “decent egg pan“ in my house. So he told me he was going to buy me an omelette pan for my birthday. At the time I didn’t care much about cooking and said “ Jim! I don’t want an egg pan for my birthday.“ And of course that’s what he brought over. (A very expensive one) the cheeky devil.
Then he proceeded to make delicious omelettes in my kitchen, so I forgave him. :-) I also thought it was adorable that he called me “Miss Wilson.” Who did that in the 80s?
He had a big personality and I can’t remember anyone not enjoying him.
I remember he had a deep sadness in him too though, and I always wanted to help.
But he wouldn’t open up. So when he kind of vanished, I felt like I wish I could’ve given him a hug goodbye. He seemed to have some unsaid heartaches. I hope that the remaining years of his life were better.
Especially the years before he passed away.
That’s a very young age. I hope and pray for the best for his surviving family.
May God be with all of you. I hope you all see each other in heaven one day and reunite.

I just heard about the tragic news on Jim. He was a great friend in high school and passed that. A great loss to everyone who knew him. In this difficult time for all his loved ones, know that you are not alone. My prayers are with your family.
