James Berdeane Jennings' Obituary
James (Jim) Berdeane Jennings, 89, passed July 5, 2014 to the awaiting embrace of the Lord. Born November 24, 1924 in Cresco, Iowa, he moved at the age of 4 to West Linn with his parents Russell and Florence Jennings, graduated from West Linn High School and joined the United States Navy serving in both WWII and The Korean War.In November 1944 he married Nancy Seward of Springfield, IL and upon discharge from the Navy in 1945, began his career with West Linn's Crown-Zellerbach Paper Mill, retiring in 1987.Jim is survived by his bride of 69 years, Nancy Jennings, his sister Evonne Jennings Dobbins, children Susan Jennings Hines (Dan) of Oregon City, OR and Jack L. Jennings (Debbie) of Prineville, OR. Grand Children Dianne O'Dell Smith, Jacqueline O'Dell Rowney, Tiffany O'Dell Edwards, Jonahs Jennings and Jodi Jennings. Great Grandchildren Jessica Smith, Brianna Rowney, Kimberly Rowney Gonzalez, Jack Jennings Jr., Abryahna Jennings, Madison Smith, Taylor Hagen, Keiley Rowney and Makaelyn Jennings. Great-great Grandsons Leo Gonzalez and Carter Hagen.Jim is predeceased by his parents Russell and Florence Jennings. Brother F. Russell Jennings, Sister Shirley Jennings Cronn and Brother Oris "Bud" Jennings.A memorial service will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church in Oregon City, OR.
