James Glennon Fuqua's Obituary
In Loving Memory of James Glennon Fuqua
James Glennon Fuqua, known as Glenn, passed away on October 5, 2025, at Providence St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by family members who loved him dearly. His departure followed a long and courageous battle with heart issues, and while his absence leaves a deep ache, his memory will always remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Born on June 23, 1958, in Mobile, Alabama, Glenn was the beloved son of Martha Elizabeth Fuqua and James Louis Fuqua, who served as a Major in the Alabama State Troopers. Glenn proudly followed in his father's footsteps, dedicating his life to public service and law enforcement. He retired as a Lieutenant with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, where he served with integrity at the county jail.
Glenn’s life was rich with adventure, laughter, and love. From an early age, he had a remarkable bond with animals—raising everything from a pet alligator and monkey to snakes, fish, and dogs. His lifelong passion led him to own a pet shop, where he shared his knowledge and love of animals with others. He was also an avid outdoorsman and thrill-seeker, enjoying scuba diving, water skiing, hunting, shooting, horseback riding, and flying his personal airplane. He had a special love for fast cars, motorcycles, and boats, and was known for his skill as a marksman.
Above all, Glenn was a devoted father to James Justin Fuqua and Maude Ross, and a proud grandfather to James Matthew Fuqua, Mashyla Lynn Link, and Nathan Ross. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Rebecca and Candace, and his niece Rachael and nephew Clayton, who credits Glenn with inspiring him to become a pilot.
Glenn’s legacy is one of an abiding love for his children and for life’s adventure. Glenn had many friends and will be missed beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Clackamas Bible Church, 15655 SE Johnson Road, Clackamas, OR 97015. All who knew and loved Glenn are welcome to join in honoring his remarkable life.
