During World War II Jackie joined the then new Women's branch of the US Coast Guard, the Spars. After a wartime romance they married, beginning a life long love. Business brought Jackie and Charlie to Pasadena, California, where they lived for 55 years. They had four children: Charles Robert Jr.(Bob). , James Parker, Edward Parker and Martha. Jackie was a devoted wife and mother who gave her family her unconditional love and generosity. She sang in the choir at St. Philip the Apostle church, was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital for 20 years, helped immigrant families from Vietnam and Poland, and gave of herself in so many ways. She and Charlie enjoyed years of sailing their boat off of Southern California. After the kids grew up Jackie and Charlie traveled the world. Loss touched her life as well. James had Down syndrome and died in 1952. Bob died in a car accident in 1969. Grandchildren added a new dimension of joy to Jackie's life. Katie and Jasmin were born to Martha and Steven Amick in Oregon. Jessica and Jacob were born to Ned and Pat Pyne in New Zealand.
