Ida Pauline Bloye's Obituary
Ida was born on October 20, 1917 in Ipswich Suffolk, England and died at the age of 99 in Clackamas, Oregon on January 7, 2017. Ida's early years were spent in the English countryside where she developed her love of animals and nature. She worked at the East Suffolk and Ipswich Hospital and met her future husband Ray while volunteering at a Red Cross Canteen dance during WWII. She came to the US in 1946 and they were married that year.
Ida worked as a medical receptionist in various local doctors offices and Gladstone Convalescent Nursing Home. She was active in masonic organizations, Harold E. Moore VFW Auxiliary and Gladstone Historical Society. Ida enjoyed gardening, hiking, ballroom dancing, the Oregon coast and her cats.
For the past 3½ years Ida has been lovingly cared for by the amazing owners and staff at Parkside Adult Care Home.
Ida was a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 822 Washington St. in Oregon City where a service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday January 21. She is survived by daughter Valerie Bloye, Gladstone, ten nieces and nephews and was predeceased by husband Ray Bloye.
