Ramona Thompson, 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 15th at her home in Berry Park Retirement Community in Oregon City, Oregon. She was born on February 18, 1930 in Boseman, Montana to Lila and Ed Ross. She grew up in her early years in Montana where her family ranched a homestead. Her brothers & Uncles were true horse riding cowboys on a large cattle ranch in the 1930's . In her teens Ramona's family moved to Port Angeles, Washington which was during World War II. She loved to dance to the big bands of that era which visited Port Angeles Armory in the 1940's.
Ramona married James Philip Thompson in 1948 and moved to Oregon City, Oregon area for the rest of her life. She worked for U.S. Bank in Oregon City for 25 years. After retirement her greatest joy was being a mother,grandmother,aunt and caring for her grandchildren.
Ramona is survived by her daughter Cindy Billups and her husband, Mike, of Oregon City; daughter Teresa Stockton and her husband Mark, of California; grandchildren Shane Billups and Ashley Billups; brothers Robert Ross of Tacoma, Washington, and Gerald Ross of Vancouver, Washington, Many friends at Berry Park Retirement Community and other family members, and close Nieces will miss her dearly.
Ramona will be buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City in a private service.
