Heidi Elizabeth Summers' Obituary
Heidi Elizabeth Summers
November 26, 1985 – April 15, 2026
Heidi Elizabeth Summers, whose life was a vibrant masterpiece of devotion, laughter, and unwavering love, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the age of 40. Born on November 26, 1985, in Boise, Idaho, Heidi possessed a rare, charismatic energy that lifted the spirit of everyone in any room she entered.
A lifelong learner with an ironclad work ethic, Heidi’s educational journey took her from Borah High School through the College of Western Idaho and Boise State University. Her dedication to the medical field culminated at the Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting, where she completed a rigorous post-baccalaureate certificate and earned national licensure. As a Certified Surgical First Assistant, she reached the pinnacle of her field, specializing in the complex demands of neurosurgery. Beyond her own clinical career, Heidi was the backbone of her husband’s anesthesiology practice, serving as the business manager and ensuring its success through her sharp intuition and tireless support.
While her professional life was marked by precision, her personal life was defined by passion. Heidi had a natural gift for interior design, creating spaces that were frequently "magazine worthy." She found her peace in the outdoors—running, hiking, biking, and camping throughout the landscapes she loved so dearly.
It is impossible to fully capture the beauty Heidi brought into the world. Her zest for life and love for socialization radiated from her brilliantly, making every person she met feel seen and valued.
Heidi is survived by her best friend and husband, Tyson; her parents, Rick and Marilyn Rietmann; her brother, Todd Rietmann; and her sister, Gretchen (Jeff) Krochmal. She deeply treasured her nieces and nephews—Hons, Allison, Hudson, Nora, and Jack—and held a special place in her heart for her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and those she embraced as her "found family."
Heidi was the light for so many candles. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her strength, her vibrance, and her love will live on in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to have known her.
