Greta Renee Albee's Obituary
Greta Renee Albee, 57, of Gladstone, Oregon died at her home on January 14th, 2024 from complications of kidney failure. Born June 10th, 1966 in Goldendale, Washington with her grandmother as her nurse. She grew up in Renton, Washington attending Briarwood Elementary, Maywood Jr High, and graduated from Oliver M. Hazen High School. She moved to Oregon to attend Multnomah School of the Bible and lived out most of her adult life in Clackamas County. She loved to garden and always boasted some of the best harvests, especially her apples & blueberries.
Though plagued with diabetes from the age of nine, and complications of diabetic neuropathy defined her physical state most of her adult life, she was a strong-willed stoic woman of immense faith. A kidney transplant at age 28 gave her new life - which she used to nurture a son, as a single mother. She was immensely fortunate to spend the last eight years of her life adventuring with her thoughtful, happy, happy, happy husband and the love of her life.
Greta was a true friend to many and had long lasting friendships. She was a swimmer from her elementary days thru high school with fond memories of shenanigans on the Maple Hills summer league and Orca aquatics teams. Church was a central part of her life and giving nature. She had a passion for helping others and spent many years hand making lap quilts as solace for those experiencing sickness or loss as a member of Angel Blanket Ministries. She worked for Providence Medical professionally for 20+ years processing medical record billing from her home office.
She was a loving wife and mother and a doting grandmother. She is survived by her husband, David Albee, son Benjamin Moore, parents Gordon and Virginia Korsgaard, her sister Regina (Rich) Leibrant, brother Glenn (Amber) Korsgaard, stepson Andrew (Vienna) Waller, grandson George and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Gladstone Christian Church, February 24th, 1pm.
