GREGORY "GREG" YORK
A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Greg York, 76, of Oregon City, Oregon, passed away at his home on June 27, 2025. He had bravely confronted and fought pulmonary fibrosis. He was born October 17, 1948, in Portland, Oregon, and lived in Oregon City, Oregon for the last 18 years, having moved from Tigard, Oregon to enjoy the country life. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966. Greg was in the Army Reserve and received an honorable discharge.
Greg was an engineer with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue for 28 years, retiring at the young age of 50. Greg was an avid runner, gym rat, motorcycle rider, woodworker, and Seahawks fan. He received his instructor certificate for scuba diving and taught classes out of Divers Paradise in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Greg also taught CPR at various businesses in the area.
Greg is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debbie Branstetter York of Oregon City; his daughters Tracy York Scharn and husband Jeff Scharn of Tigard, Oregon; Erin Ashley York LeDoux and husband Shaun LeDoux of Estacada, Oregon; granddaughter Natalie Scharn of Tigard, Oregon, brother Jeff York of Portland, Oregon; and sister Michele York of Mesa, Arizona. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Marjorie York.
A celebration of his life is planned later this summer.
