Grace Clara Fors' Obituary
Grace Clara Halvorson Fors was born on April 15, 1919 in Waskish Minnesota to Mary and Halvor Halvorson. She was the 4th child born to them out of 6 children and was the last surviving sibling of that generation. Grace left this Earth to be with her Lord on August 17, 2016.
When Grace was 6 years old the family moved from Waskish to Silva, North Dakota where she attended Silva School. At this time, her younger brother Carl would greet his sister Grace almost every day after school to find out what she had learned. He really wanted to learn and she would teach him everything she knew.
On October 28, 1939 Grace married Wilfred Fors in Fillmore, North Dakota. Wilfred preceded her in death on August 20, 1988. They made their home in and around Rugby, North Dakota and had 6 children. Elna (Howard), Rodger (Kay), Mary (Leroy), Connie (Dan), Leland, and Douglas all of which survive her.
In 1960 Grace and Wilfred moved their family to Portland, Oregon. Grace worked at the Hilton Hotel for 12 years and then later as a Home Health Aid. She loved to cook and bake. The favorites of her children and grandchildren were Lefsa and cinnamon rolls. Lefsa was a special treat at Christmastime and the cinnamon rolls were a special treat every time she made bread.
Grace was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
