Geraldine Lucile Howard's Obituary
Geraldine (Jerry) Lucile Howard passed to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on January 17, 2014, with all five of her daughters present in her home. She was born to Trinette C. and Gerardus C. A. Pyl on July 1, 1919, in Seattle, Washington, and was blessed with 94 years of life. She leaves her five daughters {they are Judie Ruhl, Pam Elwell, Chris Niswender, Betty Hoeke and Janet Anderson} and their families, including 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death in 1959 by her husband, Frank Howard. She was a faithful member of Gladstone First Baptist Church for over 70 years which made her one of the oldest members of the church. She played the piano for over 25 years and enjoyed various ministries in the church, including many girls' ministries as she was committed to working in ministries her daughters were involved in. The girls were "encouraged" to be involved in the church whenever the church doors were open. Jerry worked as secretary to the Manager of the Oregon City Employment Office for 40 years and retired at the age of 82. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 31st, at Gladstone First Baptist Church, 6125 Caldwell Road, in Gladstone, Oregon, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to CRU Ministries (Campus Crusade) in honor of her granddaughter, Staci Elsner (Hoeke).
