George Kelly Hammons' Obituary
George Kelly Hammons
On March 19, 1951, Kelly was born in Riverside, California. He was born a fighter weighing only 2 lbs. 14 oz. He died on January 21, 2022, in Oregon City, Oregon from liver failure. Kelly grew up in the San Diego area where he raised a family and bought a business, San Diego Roofing. In 1993, he moved to Oregon to work for his friend who owned Cowell Roofing and found the Pacific Northwest a new place to explore. In 2017, he retired to the peaceful and beautiful Orcas Island, Washington.
He had such a positive spirit and made all that knew him laugh. His attitude about life was so exuberant that he brought that excitement to everything he did. He loved the surf and music and Tai Chi. He loved his children: Ryan, Matthew, Erica, Lauren and Andrea and grandchildren, Spencer, Aedan and Grant. He left behind his wife, Linda and his brother, Terry and many friends and relatives. His presence will be missed. As Confucius said, "Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart". That was Kelly.
A memorial will be held in the Spring. Donations can be made to Providence Hospice in his name or plant a tree in memory of him.
