In Loving Memory of Francis "Vickie" Maxwell
July 15, 1939 - December 10, 2023
Francis "Vickie" Maxwell, was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and faithful friend, peacefully passed away on December 10, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. Born on July 15, 1939, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, she leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Francis is survived by her two sons, Michael Maxwell and K.J. Maxwell, and her daughter, C. Ann (Jeff) Carl. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Ashley (Steve) Tong, Samantha (Caleb) Sonflieth, Hazel and Hamilton Maxwell, Matthew, Crystal, and Jennifer Maxwell. Her love extended to four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Francis was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Christian Kosel, her brothers Larry Kosel and Erv Kosel; and her sisters Joan (Lee) Phipps and Carol (Walter) Payne.
A devout Catholic, Francis found solace and community through her faith. She was an active member of St. Paul's Parish in Yakima, Washington, and continued her spiritual journey as a member of St. Anthony's in Portland, Oregon, after relocating in 2021.
Her faith, and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was loved by all.
In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate the remarkable life of Francis "Vickie" Maxwell and remember the love, laughter, and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
