Floyd A. McCollum Jr.
Floyd was born February 4, 1927 and passed away on August 10, 2022.
Floyd was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma. As a young man he moved to Portland, Oregon where he met the love of his life of 72 years, Filomena (DiNucci) McCollum--one year after they met they were married on May 8, 1949.
Floyd began his career working for the Oregonian and later in life started his own business as a building contractor until his retirement.
Floyd loved hunting, fishing and especially camping with his family and relatives where he had his favorite spots--Rockaway Beach, Camp Sherman, Cove Palisades and Wickiup Reservoir.
Floyd's passion in life was flying his airplanes. He loved to fly over places like Mt. St Helens and take in a meal at Sunriver. Flying airplanes was a fun hobby but he enjoyed tinkering on planes as well with his son Ken.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Filomena, along with his two sons, Michael McCollum and Kenneth McCollum.
He leaves behind daughters Kathleen Gardner, Nancy Hasey (Mike), son Gregory McCollum, daughter in law Kathy McCollum, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren
Graveside services will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on August 22, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
