Evelyn Irene Reed's Obituary
Evelyn Irene Reed passed away surrounded by her 4 loving daughters on Friday, August 15, at the age of 86. She was also surrounded by her daughter Susan Roethe's family in West Linn Oregon. She was born on May 16, 1928 in Pampa, Texas and grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas with her parents, George and Maggie Reed. Irene is survived by her four daughters, Leslie Anthony, Robin Brownlee (David), Susan Roethe (David) and Carol Seest (Chuck), as well as 9 grandchildren, Daniel Anthony, Adam Roethe, Nicole Seest, Annie Roethe, Ben Seest, Aaron Roethe, Will Seest, Andrew Roethe and Andrew Seest. Irene's early working years began at Santa Monica and St. John's Hospitals, Santa Monica College as a typesetter in the Marketing Department, as well as at BIOLA University. Irene devoted her life to her family, where they lived in beautiful Santa Monica, California. She was a wife (married to Wayne Reed who passed on September 2, 2000), and mother of her four daughters. In her later years, she moved to West Linn, Oregon to live near daughter Susan and family. Those who knew Irene will remember her as a loving, caring mother who had an eye for beauty, and was truly devoted to her Lord Jesus. She loved genealogy and cooking and was an incredible host to all of her friends and family. Her sweet, giving nature touched the lives of many and she will not be forgotten for those wonderful attributes. A graveside memorial service was held at Inglewood Cemetery in Inglewood, California on Friday, August 22 at 2:00 pm.
