Donald Norman Krueger's Obituary
Donald Norman Krueger passed away November 8, 2012, at the age of 84. He was born November 30, 1927 in Athens, Wisconsin, to Otto and Josephine Krueger and was one of nine children. Donn served in the US navy from 1945-1948. He served aboard the USS Chickasaw and at retirement held the rank of Storekeeper Third Class and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Following his military service, Donn was a US postal mail carrier and owned and operated Donn's Refrigeration. At the Presidio in San Francisco, he was foreman of refrigeration and air-conditioning and was promoted to the San Francisco Bay Area Federal Executive Board in recognition of consistently superior performance. He retired in 1983 and moved to Milwaukie, Oregon. Donn was a Trustee and member at Zion Lutheran Church in Oregon City. He was active in the VFW, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Elks Lodge 1189 and was a member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans. Donn was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Roethe Krueger; daughter Kathy Scheel and son Kenneth Scheel; sisters Doris Habeck and Geraldine ANdersen, brother Erlyn Krueger. He was predeceased in death by his parents Otto and Josephine Krueger and siblings Lucille Aderhold, Orville Krueger, Irene Habeck, Esther Nehrbass and Elvira Jantsch. A memorial service is planned for 10:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Oregon City, followed by a committal service at Willamette National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
