Diane Van Winkle8/13/1936 - 4/16/2014On May 9th At 2 PM a celebration of life will be held for Diane Van Winkle at New Hope Community Church 11731 S.E. Stevens Rd. Happy Valley, OR 97086. Diane was born in Toledo, OR August 13,1936. Her parents were Dorothy & Walter Eastman. She spent her child hood in Forest Grove, OR. Where she attended Grade & High school. Diane was married to Don Hellickson. They had two sons Ken & Tom. She and her family enjoyed playing golf, spending time at Crooked River Ranch, and The Oregon Coast. Diane was a tournament bridge player and was the manager of the bookstore at New Hope Church. After Don's death, she married Jerry Van Winkle in September of 1996 and moved to West Linn, OR. Diane was quick to pick-up boating skills and language. She and Jerry boated on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers as far up stream as the John Day River, as far down stream as the mouth of the Columbia. They boated the waters of Puget Sound, The San Juan Islands and the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. Traveling in their R.V. through out the North West, California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona brought a lot of pleasure to Diane. She enjoyed her social activities, Hamburger Tuesdays at the Oregon City Elks club, She was a member of a ladies investment club, and a ladies bible study group at New hope church.She is survived by her two sons, Grandson Aaron, and husband, Jerry. The family suggests remembrances be made to New Hope Community Church.
