Dawn Elin Dawson's Obituary
The family of Dawn Elin Dawson are mournful to announce her passing as of January 23rd, 2026, at the age of 58 years old in Camas Washington while residing at “Lacamas Post Acute Care” during an ongoing battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of Linda and Thomas Dawson and sister to Eric Dawson, Andrea Bell, and Anne Denne. She called many places home including Scott Air Force Base in Illinois where her father served in the Air Force, Ewa beach in Hawaii where she loved living, as well as Oregon City where she graduated at La Salle High School in the class of 1985. Dawn was made an aunt to ten nieces and nephews by all three of her relatives. As an aunt she found a great deal of joy in bonding with her nephews and nieces by expressing her playful nature and genuine interest in them.
Dawn went on to pursue a career in cosmetology where she found a great deal of success as a result of her passion for helping others feel confident and reassured. She was commended for not only her ability to improve an individual's confidence as a hairdresser but also her ability to uplift a person's entire day by empathizing with them in a way that felt rare and unique.
Most notably, her proudest accomplishment was raising her five children to replicate the same virtues that she demonstrated every day and consequently impacted so many lives around her. She had two daughters Emily Burenette and Gabrielle Butler, as well as three sons Thomas Butler, Elliott Butler, and Christian Butler. All of whom will love and miss her dearly.
A service in her memory will be held on April 11th, 2026, at Saint John the Apostle Cemetery to lay her to rest at 11:30 am. Friends and family are welcomed to join to pay respect.
